Resource Round-Up of Ukrainian Aid, Events, Vigils, and Prayer

GatherDC has watched the last several days of developments in Ukraine with incredibly heavy hearts. There is so much to grieve, and it is hard to watch the ongoing violence, pain, and uncertainty happening on the ground in Ukraine from so far away feeling like there is only so much we can do.

We have compiled this list of fundraisers, organizations, events, and resources for our those in our community who are looking for ways to get involved, whether it is financially, physically, or emotionally.

Fundraisers and Donations

General

• LOCAL BUSINESS: Ukrainian-owned D Light Cafe and Bakery will be holding a week-long fundraiser
• Territory of Kindness – Support army through medicine, protective gear, tech, etc
• People in Need – humanitarian aid in critical regions
• Caritas Ukraine – Catholic relief, development, and social service org focusing on healthcare, including home car, palliative care, children/youth assistance, and assistance in crisis situations
• Ukrainian Congress Committee of America Council – launched a nationwide campaign to support Ukraine
• Lifeline Ukraine – 24/7 national suicide hotline
• Vostock-SOS – providing evacuation, shelter, and humanitarian aid for internally displaced person
• World Central Kitchen – local chef’s humanitarian kitchen mobilized in Ukraine
• Razom for Ukraine – several donation options for Ukrainian Army, Razom Emergency Response, Hospitals, more
• Revived Soldiers Ukraine – provides medical aid and sustainable living standards to Ukrainian soldiers and their families

Jewish

• Support the Jews of Kyiv! – from the Chabad Lubavitch of Kyiv
• Jewish Community of Kharkov – from the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS
• Mispacha Chabad Odessa – Orphanage, nursing, refugee home by Chabad of Odessa
• The Chesed Fund – from the Jewish community in Kyiv
• Ukraine Emergency Fund – Jewish Federation of Greater Washington
• Ukraine Emergency Fund – Jewish Federation of Baltimore
• Ukraine Crisis Fund – World Union for Progressive Judaism

Children

• Voices of Children – providing psychological/psychosocial support to children of war
• Orphan’s Aid Society – material and moral support for Ukrainian orphans

• The Kyiv Independent GoFundMe – fundraiser to support publication founded on protecting editorial independence
• Ukrainian Crisis Media Center – Communications company founded to support Ukrainian’s statehood and to promote self-sufficient Ukrainian state and society

PLEASE NOTE: There are incredible organizations (JDC Entwine, HIAS) whose missions, year-round, are built around providing safety, stability, and support for those fleeing violence. While they do not have dedicated Ukraine response funds set up, we encourage you to check them out and support them.

• Sat. Feb. 26, 6pm: Pavlo Gintov Charity Concert in Commemoration of the Heavenly Hundred UPDATE: Canceled; All proceeds from the ticket sales will go to support the Medical Volunteer Battalion Hospitallers (for treatment and rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian Soldiers)
