COVID Guidelines

Updated May 2023

Whether you’ve been dropping by our monthly Happy Hours, learning alongside us in a small-group cohort at the townhouse, or grabbing coffee one-on-one with our team of engagers, it is always a joy to see our community members out and about and in-person in the DMV! Covid-19 continues to require careful forethought and planning, but the progress we’ve collectively made also allows us to gather together in ways that haven’t been available for the past three years. We continue to be committed to do everything we can to keep our amazing community safe, healthy, and comfortable. The following are our current guidelines for GatherDC in-person experiences, which we will continue to update as needed.

In-Person Gathering Health and Safety Protocols

Note: The safety protocols will vary depending on the nature of the in-person experience. Be sure to check the registration for specific details when signing up for a GatherDC experience.

  • GatherDC gatherings will be held both indoors and outdoors. Registration details will clarify the particular nature of a given experience on an event-by-event basis.
  • Masks will be optional for attendees and Gather staff at all experiences, both indoors and outdoors. We encourage you to wear a mask at anytime if it makes you feel more comfortable.
  • Masks and hand sanitizer will be available upon request.
  • GatherDC requires vaccination for indoor experiences—please see event registration for more details.

Requirements for Participation

  • Participants must notify a GatherDC team member in advance if they are experiencing or have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 within the past 14 days.
  • Participants must notify a GatherDC team member in advance if they have been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days.
  • Participants must knowingly assume the risk of possible exposure to the coronavirus (or other public health risk) by attending an in-person experience, and release GatherDC, its board, and employees from any and all liabilities.
