J Street is seeking a J Street U Regional Coordinator to help recruit, develop, mentor, and support student leaders as part of J Street U, the student arm of J Street.
About J Street J Street organizes pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy Americans to promote US policies that align with Jewish and democratic values, that help secure the State of Israel as a just, democratic homeland for the Jewish people, and that advance freedom, safety and self-determination for the Palestinian people.
J Street focuses its work in three main areas: advocating and demonstrating support for pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy policies in Congress, the media, and the Jewish community; endorsing and supporting federal candidates who share J Street's agenda; and educating the public and raising awareness of the need for a lasting peace that ensures security, dignity, and self-determination for Israelis and Palestinians.
The Opportunity The J Street U DMV Regional Coordinator will oversee a portfolio of student leaders across DC, Maryland, and Virginia, helping them translate their values into meaningful action. As a coach, mentor, and strategic partner, they will identify emerging leaders, support students in developing leadership goals, and help them create impact through campus organizing, Jewish communal engagement, and public affairs advocacy.
The ideal candidate is passionate about youth leadership development, skilled at building relationships, and energized by mentoring students through complex campus environments. They are strategic thinkers who can help students grow as organizers, advocates, and community leaders.
The successful candidate will be committed to J Street U’s mission, including promoting a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, advancing democratic values, and empowering students to become thoughtful, effective leaders who create lasting change in their communities and beyond.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Working with the J Street U Deputy Director and team, the Regional Coordinator will: 1. Recruit, identify, and cultivate relationships with talented student leaders across a diverse range of campuses and leadership pathways. 2. Travel regularly throughout the region to visit campuses, facilitate trainings and educational programs, support student-led initiatives, and strengthen J Street U's presence on the ground. 3. Support students in pursuing leadership opportunities across J Street U's core tracks, including Campus & Community Building, Jewish Communal Leadership, Public Affairs, and Communications. 4. Collaborate with colleagues across J Street to connect students with relevant leadership opportunities, campaigns, partners, and resources. 5. Build and maintain relationships with campus, Jewish communal, and organizational partners that can support student leadership development and advance J Street U's mission. 6. Contribute to the development and implementation of J Street U's regional and national strategy. 7. Support the planning and execution of regional and national student programs, conferences, and leadership experiences. 8. Execute administrative, logistical, and operational responsibilities necessary to support student success and organizational goals.

Some knowledge of/ and great interest in the history and politics as it relates to the Middle East, Israel, and the Arab-Israeli conflict 5. Ability to be a team player, be relentless in professional self-improvement, and multitask/manage multiple time-critical projects 6. A strong understanding of and commitment to J Street and J Street U’s mission Nice-to-have 1. Excellent written and oral skills; public speaking abilities 2. At least a two year commitment to this position 3. 2 years or more of campus, political, or community organizing experience, either as a student or professional
Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Status This is a full-time exempt position, with occasional work outside traditional work hours on an as-needed basis. The salary is $56,000-$58,500.
