Themes of the High Holidays. --- Elul - the Hebrew month before Rosh HaShanah - is a time for spiritual preparation. We are meant to begin taking an account of our souls, thinking about the moments we missed the mark, and how we can do better in the coming year. This year, we are offering space to start doing this work together. We will discuss themes of the High Holidays, explore the theological implications of the prayers, and start our own reflections. It will all culminate on Selichot, when we will take a look at the confessional prayers as a community. Are you interested in learning useful skills for creating close connections with people? Or have you ever thought to yourself: wow I wish I had a friend group? Come to the building community workshop! Together we will learn useful skills and create a toolbox for initiating, building, and sustaining communities. These tools are helpful for any young adult wanting to become a lay leader and taking a more active role in their communities, without necessarily contributing a monetary gift. This workshop is intended for young adults ages 22-35. Light refreshments will be provided. RSVPs are appreciated.
