Thomas Jefferson Building - Coolidge Auditorium (LJG45A) 10 1st Street SE Washington, DC 20540 , United States

Join the NSP Justice Team for a havdalah to welcome the new week followed by a neighborhood stroll where we will meet neighbors in the community, and watch for/document behavior by police and ICE agents in the area, if any incidents occur. This is a revival of the occasional neighborhood cop watch strolls hosted by the justice team prior to the pandemic.

We will also include a training on how to observe, document, and deescalate during the stroll.

The schedule will be as follows:
    7:00-7:20pm: Welcome
    7:20-8:23pm: Cop Watch Training
8:23-8:40 pm: Havdalah (starting at sundown)
    8:40-10:00pm: Neighborhood stroll and debrief

Training, havdalah and debrief will occur outdoors in an NSP member's backyard in Petworth (exact location provided after RSVP). The strolls around the neighborhood will also be outdoors. Masks are optional in these spaces, but required if you go indoors to use the restroom at our community member's house.
