    Join 2239 for Metro Minyan at the Capital Jewish Museum. We are so excited to once again fill the oldest synagogue in D.C .with music, prayer, and spirituality. It will be your familiar, accessible, and musical Metro Minyan service and dinner, just in an old/new beautiful space! The Lillian and Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum opened in June 2023, and 2239 has made it a second home for Metro Minyan since.

    We are so excited to host our third annual happy hour with the Lillian and Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum. This is our biggest happy hour of the year, and we can't wait to welcome you all to visit the museum while you mingle with new friends! You will be able to purchase drinks and explore local Jewish history at your own pace, including a current special exhibition, LGBTJews in the Federal City. Whether you're new to the DMV or have attended GatherDC's happy hours in the past, we are so excited to welcome you!

  • “LGBTJews In the Federal City” Opening Day with Capital Jewish Museum

    LGBTJews in the Federal City explores a turbulent century of celebration, activism, and change in the nation's capital. This landmark exhibition is the first of its kind to explore DC history, Jewish history, and LGBTQ+ history together, drawing from the Museum's robust LGBTQ+ archive. Immerse yourself in historical and contemporary photography, artifacts, and oral histories. Learn about legal milestones, far-ranging protests, vibrant cultural life, and change in religious spaces.

    The exhibition will open in time for Washington, DC's observation of its 50th Capital Pride celebration and as the city hosts World Pride for the first time, offering an unprecedented opportunity to infuse Pride with local Jewish history.
