  • First Session of Tai Chi with the Bender JCC

    Tai Chi is a mentally challenging self-defense art that derives its power from the cultivation of internal strength, rather than muscle power. In this Òfreshman level' beginners class, students learn the solo form.

    Summer Season Dates:

    Mondays | July 14 - August 4 | $110/member | $120/Public

    Come have fun and learn to play American Mah Jongg, an exciting four-player tile game with Chinese origins. Using 152 tiles depicting Chinese characters and symbols, players pick and discard in turn to form combinations found on the National Mah Jongg League's annual card of hands. Strategy, skill and luck are needed to be the first player to complete a hand and declare ÒMah Jongg!' This 4-session class will be taught in person at the Bender JCC by Jamie Grauer.

    *Space limited to 8 participants per class.

    *You will need to purchase a Mah Jongg card prior for the class. Cards can be purchased here.

The son and his non-Jewish fiancŽ are about to have their parents meet each other when an accidental death gets in the way and threatens to unravel the whole evening.
    Kyra Sedgwick leads an outstanding ensemble cast in this fast paced, surprisingly profound film, finding humor in unexpected places. The film's true strength, however, is that no matter what your religion or how you practice it, you can appreciate its message: family matters!
