August Griller Shabbat with Capital Qvellers August 22, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm Avalon Theatre 5612 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC, United States Please join for our August Qvellers Shabbat! The Capital Qvellers are a queer Jewish social group of young professionals that gets together for monthly Shabbat dinners and occasional other events. This was a hit last year so we're bringing it back: Let's gather in a lovely courtyard to welcome Shabbat and celebrate summer together. There's a gas grill for us to share -- I'll provide some grilled goodies (veg- and non-veg) and summery treats like watermelon, and people are encouraged to bring more stuff to put on the grill or a side dish. If it winds up being miserably hot outside (and/or raining) we can head in to the AC. Easiest accessed via the bus stop at 16th and R, and convenient to (but also halfway between) Dupont Circle (red) and U St (green) metro stations. Dial 000 at the front door on 16th St and the front desk will buzz you in. It's a straight shot across the lobby to the courtyard in the back! Free
