    Welcome to the Herut DC May Havdalah Bonfire and Lag BaOmer Hangout! There will be food.

    The event starts at 7:30pm where we will have singing and hanging out and we will have Israel education. At 9:05pm we will have Havdallah followed shortly by a Lag BaOmer bonfire.

    Come join us for an evening of delicious food, great company, and inspiring conversations. Our event will be held in person, so get ready to mingle with like-minded individuals who share your passion for Zionism.

  • Lunch Service at So Others Might Eat with the Edlavitch DCJCC

    Spend your Sunday supporting the clients of So Others Might Eat! SOME's Dining Room serves over 1,000 nourishing breakfasts and lunches every day to those experiencing homelessness and poverty, with support from nearly 10,000 volunteers annually. Volunteers will assist with plating and passing out meals, refill drinks, help with dishwashing, and clean up and reset the dining room.

    This volunteer program has limited spots and is open to volunteers ages 13+. All volunteers ages 13-16 must be accompanied by a chaperone. The SOME dining room is located in NE DC, half a mile from the NOMA Gallaudet Metro. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mira at msmith@edcjcc.org.

  • Urban Gardening Night with the Edlavitch DCJCC

    Join the EDCJCC at the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC)'s Drop-In Center garden! Started by the JCC in 2020, we have been helping youth served by the LAYC Drop-In Center grow veggies, herbs, and flowers. LAYC serves youth experiencing homelessness and those who are undocumented. The garden provides both a respite area as well as an opportunity for life-skills training.

    No prior gardening experience is necessary! You can come once, twice, or every month. Please note that this opportunity is for volunteers 12+. Questions? Reach out to Sonya at sweisburd@edcjcc.org.
