Madison Decker, DC Fellow

Madison grew up in the Philly suburbs and lived in NYC for multiple years during her undergrad and career in theatre administration. She moved to DC in 2021 to start law school at GW, where she is a rising 2L. Sunday mornings working at Temple Sinai Religious School and Friday night services at Sixth & I kept Madison sane during her first year of law school, so she was thrilled to give back to the DC Jewish community through the Open Doors Fellowship.

For her Capstone Project, Madison will be activating the George Washington University’s Jewish graduate student community. Through her coffees and interactions as a student, Madison noticed a need for Jewish grad students to come out of their bubble and rediscover the joys of Jewish community and ritual. She plans to host a wintry Shabbat dinner for GWU’s Jewish graduate students.
