Who are we? Kol Ami is a progressive, inclusive Reconstructionist Jewish community based in Northern Virginia. As the only Reconstructionist congregation in the state, we are dedicated to fostering Jewish spirituality, learning, and community in an egalitarian and participatory environment. Our mission is to celebrate Jewish souls, expand Jewish minds, and reconstruct Jewish hearts. We welcome individuals and families of all backgrounds, including interfaith families, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people of all abilities
What do we offer 20s and 30s? While Kol Ami does not have a formal young professionals group, we provide various opportunities that may appeal to young adults seeking spiritual growth, community engagement, and leadership development:
Adult Education: We offer a range of adult learning programs, including weekly Torah study, Talmud sessions, and courses on contemporary Jewish life. kolamivirginia.org
Leadership Opportunities: As a participatory congregation, members are encouraged to take active roles in services, committees, and community projects, allowing young professionals to develop leadership skills and contribute meaningfully.
Community Events: Our calendar features events such as Shabbat services, holiday celebrations, and social gatherings that provide opportunities for connection and networking. kolamivirginia.org
Virtual Participation: For those with busy schedules, many of our programs and services are accessible via Zoom, offering flexibility and convenience.
