As the GLBT portal of the Edlavitch DCJCC, GLOE – The Kurlander Program for GLBT Outreach & Engagement – engages metropolitan Washington’s GLBT Jewish community by sponsoring original programming and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment at the Edlavitch DCJCC. Founded in 2006 by Stuart S. Kurlander, GLOE is the first and only full-time GLBT program at any Jewish Community Center (JCC) in North America. GLOE holds around 40 programs and events every year, in a wide range of areas – in the arts and literature, community service, holidays and spirituality, social justice, and, of course, social events – and running the gamut of queer Jewish identities.

GLOE connects DC’s GLBTQ Jewish community by sponsoring original programming and fostering a welcoming & inclusive environment at the Edlavitch DCJCC.
