AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps

AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps is dedicated to developing and engaging a network of Jewish leaders fighting to end domestic poverty. We place young Jewish adults, 21-26 years of age, in a year of full-time service at local antipoverty organizations. During the year, corps members live together as a community and participate in weekly educational programs to deepen their understanding of domestic poverty and explore their work through the lens of Jewish tradition, regularly facilitated by local experts, educators, and community leaders. Following the program AVODAH alumni continue their leadership in both the local Jewish and social justice communities.

Our local staff and alumni are experienced educators and leaders with a wide-ranging knowledge base on issues relating to poverty, social justice, and Jewish life. Whether you’re looking for resources, a facilitator or panelist, or to deepen your learning, we are more than happily to connect you.
