While chag formally begins at sunset, or 8:28 pm, on Sunday, June 1, the minhag is to not say Maariv or Kiddush before nightfall, which is at 9:15 pm, in order to ensure seven complete weeks between Pesach and Shavuot.

In light of this, we will hold Mincha at 8:00 pm, the first shiur at 8:20 pm, and Maariv and Kiddush at 9:30 pm. We will continue with shiurim at 10:00 pm, which will last throughout the night. The doors to Friends will lock at 11:00 pm but can be opened from the inside throughout the night. We will have someone check the door periodically after 11:00 pm.

We will provide grape juice and challah rolls so people can make kiddush and hamotzi at the appropriate time. We will also be serving mac Ôn cheese, other cheesy delights, and salad, starting at approximately 9:30 pm. Coffee, tea and ice cre
