The Power of Partnership: Rosenwald, Washington, and the Arc of Justice with CJM

October 6 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$15

Join the National Building Museum, the Lillian and Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum, and March On! for a program exploring the remarkable partnership between Booker T. Washington, Julius Rosenwald, and thousands of local communities. Through film, exhibition, and conversation, discover how their collaboration helped build nearly 5,000 schools across the segregated South—and why their example of shared purpose and collective action can continue inspiring us today.

The program includes:

1 pm and 4 pm: Screenings of Aviva Kempner’s documentary Rosenwald (1 hour, 40 minutes) at the Capital Jewish Museum
5 to 6 pm and 7:30 to 8:30 pm: Viewing of the National Building Museum exhibition A Better Life for Their Children: Julius Rosenwald, Booker T. Washington, and the 4,978 Schools that Changed America
6 to 7:30 pm: A moderated conversation and audience Q&A at the National Building Museum featuring leaders in history, education, film, and social impact. An ASL interpreter will be available for the panel discussion.
7:30 pm: An evening reception
