Environmental Challenges for Israelis & Palestinians with American University

March 31 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Please join American University’s School of Public Affair and Meltzer Schwartzberg Center for Israel Studies for the 2025 Perlmutter lecture by Israeli environmentalist, politician and academic. Dr. Tal, founder of the Green Party in Israel, will discuss sustainability challenges of the region, the profound environmental implications of the Gaza war on the future, and possible visions that can lead beyond the prevailing painful and destructive dynamics. He will present priorities for the ecological restoration of Gaza along with specific ideas for promoting regional initiatives to address the climate crisis. Notwithstanding the enormous suffering on all sides during the past year of warfare, the climate crisis will not wait for final peace agreements – and there are many new ideas on the table that can accelerate progress and healing.
