Chassidic thinkers say that on Chanukah, when we light the candles, we are re-lighting our neshamot (our souls). In a challenging time like we’re in now, there’s a risk of our internal lights, our souls, getting dim. The primary job of our community is to rekindle our lights for one another and make sure our souls continue to burn brightly.
NSP’s Annual Chanukah Party will be an all-ages, fun-filled afternoon of connecting in community. We invite everyone to bring their own menorah to light together, and display in our community menorah room, where we’ll learn about each menorah’s history and other community or family Chanukah traditions! This year we’ll also have a new addition: a tater tot bar! Whether you’re bringing your family, coming solo, or joining with friends, join us to craft, learn, play dreidel, and enjoy performances to mark this joyful holiday.
DATE: Sunday, December 14 TIME: 3:00-6:00pm LOCATION: We will meet at a church at 4704 13th St. NW in Petworth, DC. This event will include both indoor and outdoor spaces for attendees to utilize.
