After October 7th, Yakir launched Boots for Israel to help provide the tactical boots his military unit desperately needed. What began as an effort to support fellow soldiers has grown into a broader mission of inspiring others to take action and make a difference through meaningful mitzvot. Yakir now travels to synagogues and Jewish organizations, sharing his story and encouraging communities to find their own ways to contribute. Professionally, Yakir works as an occupational therapist in elementary schools in New York.
