1st Meeting of Growing with Love: 4 Session Couples Workshop with TRS

May 27 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$72

Join us for an enriching four-session journey designed for committed, engaged, and married partners seeking to deepen their relationship through couples coaching resources with Jewish wisdom and practice. Together we will explore spirituality and personal spiritual experiences, meaningful Jewish observances in the home, and the sacred language of covenant — drawing on the wisdom of the ketubah, b’tzelem Elohim (the belief that each person is created in the Divine image), and shalom bayit (peace in the home).

Through guided conversation and experiential learning, couples will strengthen skills in deep listening, navigating difference, managing and resolving conflict, and aligning around finances and tzedakah (sacred giving). The series culminates in a participant-scheduled potluck Shabbat dinner, offering the opportunity to bring learning into lived practice around the table.

Open to committed, engaged, and married partners with at least one Jewish partner. Interfaith and LGBTQIA+ couples warmly welcome. Taught by Rabbi JoHanna Potts.

Cost: $72 per couple (scholarships available upon request).

Rabbi JoHanna Potts leads Advancing Wisdom and Education offering learning and worship opportunities, pastoral support, and lifecycle officiating in the community. While at the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning, she was the COO, the Executive Director and led the CE21 congregation change initiative. In fact, organizational change and strategic planning have been both an academic and professional area of interest for over 30 years. She is a certified mediator who strives to build bridges and bring understanding and acceptance where there is conflict. She has served as the education director in both Jewish day and congregation schools supporting faculty, parents and students in their learning. And Rabbi Potts loves teaching adults, previously through the Melton program, and more recently in Adult Bnai Mitzvah programs and the Introduction to Judaism classes. She cherishes all of the lifecycle moments she has guided people through including weddings and funerals. Her passion is to bring enjoyment to Jewish learning with a view towards empowering individuals to create lives of meaning through Judaism.
