DMV Pride Guide 2025

Dear DMV friends,

It’s a big month here in the DMV — we’re already one week into World Pride (May 17th – June 8th) and Pride Month (June 1st – June 30th) begins on Sunday. This month is a great opportunity to celebrate Jewish LGBTQ+ community, and there’s no shortage of opportunities to come together in community to do so!

We’ll be updating this guide as often as possible between now and the end of June. If you notice that we’re missing any local experiences that would be a great fit for our community of 20s and 30s, please submit them to our online calendar or email us, and we’ll make sure to share. Thursday, May 29th

6:30 p.m. — Celebrate Pride: Learn and Serve with Friendship Place with the EDCJCC
- “Volunteers will hear from Friendship Place about their approach to ending homelessness in DC and the unique challenges LGBTQIA+ individuals face in accessing stable housing.”

Sunday, June 1st

1:00 p.m. — Gay Men’s Chorus with the Capital Jewish Museum
- “The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC (GMCW) will be performing at the Capital Jewish Museum as part of their World Pride International Choral Festival.”

Wednesday, June 4th

6:30 p.m. — DC Pride Palooza: Make Art for Housing Justice with Jews United for Justice
- “We’ll be joined by our friends at the DC LGBTQ Budget Coalition to talk about why housing is a queer issue, then we’ll study some queer Jewish texts and make art about housing to post around the neighborhood.”

Thursday, June 5th

6:00 p.m. — World Pride Reception with A Wider Bridge
- “A Wider Bridge World Pride Reception in Washington, DC opens World Pride weekend, Jewish style! It’s OK to be queer. OK to be Jewish. OK to be both!”

Friday, June 6th

6:00 p.m. — World Pride Shabbat with Bet Mishpachah and Community Partners
- “Join us for a joyous celebration of love, unity, and community. Come together for drinks, snacks, and a warm atmosphere to honor our LGBTQ+ Jewish community.”
7:30 p.m. — Rainbow Shabbat with Moishe House Columbia Heights
- Register by June 5th
- “Bring your appetite and a friend as we celebrate Pride Month and LGBTQ+ members of our community!”

Saturday, June 7th

10:00 a.m. — Pride Shabbat with Kol Ami
- “We’ll celebrate the beauty of diversity, the strength of community, and the Jewish values that call us to stand for justice and inclusion.”
12:00 p.m. — Rainbow Bagel Brunch with Moishe House Columbia Heights
- “Come enjoy rainbow bagels, vibrant vibes, and great company as we kick off a day of joy and solidarity. All are welcome — bring your pride and your appetite!”
2:00 p.m. — World Pride Parade with Washington Hebrew Congregation

Sunday, June 8th

8:00 a.m. — International March and Rally on Washington with GLOE
- “Following the footsteps of Bayard Rustin, Marian Anderson, and countless others who have demanded freedom, and feature renowned LGBTQ+ activists and leaders from around the world.”

Friday, June 13th

6:00 p.m. — Pride Shabbat with Sixth & I
- “Rabbi Aaron and the Sixth & I musicians lead an inclusive service celebrating the diversity of DC Jewish life. Hear from Sixth & I community speakers about the impact of LGBTQ+ spiritual safe spaces and a sermon from Rabbi Amelia Wolf of Congregation Etz Hayim.”

Friday, June 20th

8:00 p.m. — Pride Shabbat Dinner with Rodef 2100
- “Join us for Pride Shabbat and a fun Friday night at Temple Rodef Shalom! Following services, we will have dinner, catch-up, and schmooze.”

Sunday, June 22nd

9:30 a.m. — Family Day: Full of Pride with the Capital Jewish Museum
- “Dance to live music courtesy of the Hill Havurah ensemble at 10:15 am, listen to a fabulous Jewish Drag Story Time at 12pm, and explore LGBTJews in the Federal City with our Family Guide or kid’s scavenger hunt.”

Sunday, June 29th

11:00 a.m. — Ga’avah Learning and Reflection Space with Adas Israel Congregation
- “Rabbi Krinsky will be leading a learning session for LGBTQIA! members focusing on texts and practices of resilience in person at Adas Israel. It’s a great opportunity to meet other Ga’avah folks and learn together. Mimosas and bagels provided.”

Thursday, July 24th

6:00 p.m. — CJM After Sunset: After Hours Pride Party with the Capital Jewish Museum
- “Celebrate WorldPride DC 2025 at the Capital Jewish Museum after hours with the launch of our new special exhibition, LGBTJews in the Federal City.”
