After growing up in Silver Spring, MD, and living in various parts of the country, including Massachusetts, Arizona, Georgia, and NYC, Rabbi Amalia (she/her) is honored to return to the DMV as GatherDC’s Community Rabbi with her her spouse, son, two cats, and too many books in tow. Most recently the Senior Director of Programs at Mayyim Hayyim, Rabbi Amalia is passionate about Jewish education, ritual access, and marking moments with innovative Jewish practices steeped in tradition. She received her rabbinic ordination from Hebrew College and holds a Theatre degree with a concentration in Gender and Women’s Studies. Rabbi Amalia can be found crafting (ask her about her planner!), learning how to identify and forage local plants, and exploring her local library.
