What do I love most about my work? I love meeting with individuals, hearing their stories, and seeing how Judaism can bring more meaning and joy into their lives. I love getting to be with people to help them use Judaism as a guide through all of life’s ups and downs. I see my rabbinate as being about creating Jewish community, and I love being a part of that on both the detailed level and the bigger picture level.

How is Judaism valuable in my life? Judaism brings so much meaning and intention to my life. I think about what I eat before I eat it because of Judaism. I think about whether I’m being enough of a team player in my greater community because of Judaism. I also find my life to be much more centered because of the way Judaism integrates prayer and learning into my life.

Why did I decide to become a rabbi? In college, I was planning on being a doctor. I was on the fast track to medical school when I found myself procrastinating studying for a physics exam, which I normally really enjoyed, to prepare materials for a summer USY (Conservative movement youth group) trip to Israel. I had an aha moment, in which I realized that working in the Jewish world was what I really passionate about. Since then, it’s been a slow journey towards realizing that what I most wanted to do and how I would be best suited to give back to the Jewish community was through the pulpit rabbinate.

What services do I offer? Weddings/Other Lifecycle Events, Conversions, Holiday Services, Young Family Opportunities, Counseling, Group Learning, Shabbat Services
