Who are we? Theater J is a nationally-renowned, professional theater that celebrates, explores, and struggles with the complexities and nuances of both the Jewish experience and the universal human condition. Our work illuminates and examines: ethical questions of our time, inter-cultural experiences that parallel our own, and the changing landscape of Jewish identities. As the nation’s largest and most prominent Jewish theater, we aim to preserve and expand a rich Jewish theatrical tradition and to create community and commonality through theater-going experiences.
What do we offer 20s and 30s? Theater J offers experiences for young professionals in the Washington DC metro area. We offer a full season of 5-7 plays and musicals each year. Young professionals can purchase discounted subscriptions or single tickets. Discounts include group prices, student prices and “Pay What You Choose” tickets. We also have play readings, talkbacks, dinners before shows, classes for theater lovers, a Yiddish Theater Lab, new Jewish play prizes, and more!
