Administrative/Communications Assistant Position Description
(Part Time/Remote/Flexible)

Job Overview: The Assistant will support the social justice initiatives of a growing Network of synagogues in the DMV and further the Network’s mission by providing administrative, logistical, communications and programmatic support to the Network’s Core Team. Main areas of responsibility are communications and information sharing, administration and coordination, and programming support.

About SEA Change DMV: SEA Change DMV is a dynamic network of cross-denominational synagogues (currently 10 congregations) that take action together and with community-based organizations to collaboratively work toward racial justice, equity and inclusion for all. The SEA Change framework is based on relationship building and community organizing by congregants within synagogues, among SEA Change synagogues and throughout the wider community to work towards equity and inclusion.

Job Responsibilities:

Communications and Information Sharing
 Facilitate effective Network communication by collaborating and communicating with Network synagogues and external partners
 Collect and share information on events & advocacy opportunities across the DMV that are of interest to the Network and maintain information on a Google calendar and/or other searchable formats
 Maintain Network social media and web presence
 Manage data: upload, track, and disseminate meeting minutes and relevant information
 Draft emails and support correspondence with Network synagogues and external partners

Administration and Coordination
 Schedule in person and zoom Core Team meetings
 Secure Network meeting locations. Arrange catering, as needed
 Follow up with team members on action items, as needed
 Reply to requests for information and emails from the community
 Maintain lists of training and event attendees

Programming Support
 Schedule, organize and coordinate events across the Network
 Provide logistical support, research and follow up
 Opportunity to attend events and programs

Qualifications:
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent multitasking, administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail. Proficient in MS Office with strong computer skills.
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience in communications, marketing, or organizing preferred.

Logistics
• This is a part time, non-exempt, remote position with flexible hours.
• This is a 10 hours per week job with an opportunity to work additional hours if mutually agreed upon
• Compensation will be $25.00 per hour
