Jewish Federations of North America’s Communications Department seeks a Writing and Communications Intern with an interest in writing, journalism and public relations, who is pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector, communications, and/or advocacy. This is a paid internship, working up to 20 hours a week.

Job summary:
In this paid role, you will provide support to the communications team in telling the story of Jewish Federations. Tasks may include drafting press releases, social media posts, statements and blog entries, researching media contacts, analyzing PR and social media analytics, researching and reporting on best practices across various social media platforms, crafting stories for pitches, scheduling interviews and more. This is a remote position.

Professional behavior, and ability to work with diverse personalities and work styles
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Interest or background in communications or public relations
Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student preferred

You gain knowledge and experience in communications, the nonprofit sector and Jewish communal work
You gain professional experience by participating in meetings, working independently and in a team setting and managing expectations
