Okay yes, Aunt Becky is facing potential jail time. Justin Bieber left the market and entered into marriage, while Miley and Liam ended theirs. We had somehow even more awkward political tension at home, in the Royal Family (#teammeghan), and in Westeros. Cats premiered. We could go on and on with the negative, but instead, let’s end 2019 on a high note.
After all, 2019 saw some pretty wonderful times too!
In sports news, the U.S. Women’s soccer team won the world cup and our very own Nationals dominated the World Series! Keanu Reeves had his renaissance, Pam and Angela released the best podcast possibly ever, Taylor and Katie made up, Lizzo came into our lives, and Baby Yoda stole our hearts.
Locally, Jewish DC hosted over 1,000+ community events for 20s/30s, ushered in new rabbis (including our very own Rabbi Ilana!), saw a newly renovated EDCJCC, opened a kosher vegan burger spot, welcomed a brand new Moishe House in Fairfax, and so much more!
We were also lucky enough to have featured 50 incredible young Jews who are shark cage divers, relationship journalists, trivia hosts, bra-inventors, and more. Take a trip down memory lane before we say goodbye to 2019 and hello to a new crop of Jewish People of the Week! Oh, and if you or a friend want to be featured in 2020 – let us know.
