Sixth & I celebrates intersections — the unexpected places where Jewish and secular culture meet.
DC’s large population of unaffiliated and under-affiliated young professional Jews comes to this notoriously transient city often lacking community ties. Post-college but pre-parenthood, this demographic is establishing their careers and identities. During this transitional time, Sixth & I offers a space for young Jews to connect—to Judaism, arts and culture, spirituality, tradition, and to each other—on their own terms and at their own pace. Designed for young professional Jews in their 20s and 30s, 6th in the City programming encompasses cultural, religious, and social opportunities include Trivia Nights, Sixth & U: Jewish Education, Not Your Bubbe’s Sisterhood: For women in their 20s and 30s, Shabbat Services, and reimagined holiday celebrations.
