DESCRIPTION:JOIN OUR NEW SOCIAL MAHJONGG LEAGUE for weekly game play based on the NMJL (American-style) Mahjongg rules — PLUS some exciting and fun extras\, such as more robust games\, a completely new new scoring system\, and the addition of the MAD JOKER\, which can be used for any tile — even pairs and singles! \nALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME.\nFor free mahjong lessons\, visit http://dcmahjong.com/ \nThe season consists of 8 weeks of sessions (1x a week) on Wednesdays from January 7 through February 25\, 2026\nEach session consists of 6 games\, some with special themes and/or hands.\nAll players receive a score based on winning with mahjongg — or being close.\nAwards will be presented at the end of the season for high scores and special categories. \nGames are held every Wednesday at 7:00pm at Urban Roast\,\n916 G Street NW\, across from the MLK Jr. Memorial Library\, 1 block from both Metro Center and Gallery Place stations. \nOfficial game play (6 games) should take just under 2 hours.\nFeel free to stay later and play some more! \nSnack mix included.\nFood and beverages available for order at the private bar. \n \nAccommodations: ADA Accessible Venue \n \nOrganization: DC Drop In Mahjongg \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not
