SUMMARY:Dancin’ in the Streets: A Simchat Torah Celebration with Sixth & I
DESCRIPTION:6:00 pm: Class with Rabbi Jenna\n6:30 pm: Happy Hour\n7:30 pm: Service and dancing \nSimchat Torah\, which means “Rejoicing in Torah\,” is the day when we gather to renew ourselves as we begin the cycle of reading from Genesis once again. Let loose and dance like no one’s watching as you enjoy live music\, themed cocktails and mocktails\, and lively dancing on I Street. \nBefore the main event\, choose from taking a class with Rabbi Jenna diving into the holiday and exploring the first few lines of the Torah\, or get social and meet new people at our happy hour. \nClass: Make it Make Sense \nOn Simchat Torah\, we read the very first lines of Torah and the story of creation – not making something out of nothing but rather creating order out of chaos – tohu va-vohu. In a world that at times feels too chaotic to comprehend\, how can we continue to create meaningful and joyful experiences? Explore these big questions and more through a text study with Rabbi Jenna. \n \nAccommodations: ADA Accessible Venue;ASL Interpretation \n \nOrganization: Sixth & I \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not

SUMMARY:How to be a Jewish Adult Workshop Begins with Sixth & I
DESCRIPTION:This 10-week workshop meets Tuesdays starting October 20\, with some exceptions. The full dates are Tuesdays\, October 20\, 27\, November 3\, 10\, 17\, December 1\, 8\, and 15 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. \nDo you ever feel like you could use a handbook for how to build a Jewish life? If you identify as Jewish or Jew-ish but aren’t sure how to incorporate Judaism into your day-to-day life\, this 8-week series offers equal parts community-building and deep-dive into core lessons from our tradition to help you feel more Jewishly connected. \nLed by Rabbi Loren Berman\, each class will take on an essential Jewish value or teaching including big topics ranging from love and relationships\, social justice\, unpacking what it means to be spiritual\, and more. SUMMARY:Grief Group with Sixth & I
DESCRIPTION:Have you lost someone? Are you interested in gathering with other Sixth & I’ers to talk about your grief (and the many forms it takes)? Do you want to get together with other people in their 20s and 30s who have also experienced loss and “get it”? Although many in our community have lost a loved one\, grief can be painfully isolating. Grounded in Jewish wisdom\, this monthly gathering is designed to help people process their grief with others in our community. \n*Please note: These groups will not be led by a trained therapist or mental health professional. The groups will be a place for peer support and are not a substitution for therapy or other professional services. Additionally\, filling out this form does not guarantee that you will be matched with a group. \n \nAccommodations: ADA Accessible Venue \n \nOrganization: Sixth & I \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not
