SUMMARY:Beyond a Single Story: An Interfaith Evening of Sharing with Abrahamic House
DESCRIPTION:very faith and culture holds countless stories\, yet too often\, only one is told. Join us for an evening inspired by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s “The Danger of a Single Story” as we reflect on how stories shape our perceptions of one another. \nWe’ll come together to share personal or faith-based stories that are often unheard or misrepresented\, and explore how storytelling can be an act of courage\, compassion\, and bridge-building. \n🕯️ Bring a story\, your perspective\, and your willingness to listen deeply. \nLight refreshments will be served. \nSaturday\, Nov 8th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. \nLocation will be provided via email within 24-hours of the event. \nAt Abrahamic House\, we believe access is a practice\, and it’s something we’d like to practice along with all of you.  \nMobility Accommodations: Abrahamic House does not have a wheelchair accessible entrance. That said\, we are willing to be creative about how to get folks into the space\, including carrying folks and their medical device(s) into the house or arranging for an alternate venue. If you have mobility needs\, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly\, and we will coordinate with you. \nReligious Accommodations: For all of our events\, we will have a space set up for our community members to pray\, if they so choose. If you do not immediately see it\, please don’t hesitate to ask a fellow where the prayer space is located. \nAlcohol Policy: All alcohol at our events is optional\, and we will have several events throughout the year that are alcohol free.
