DESCRIPTION:Havdallah & Rosh Chodesh Elul (Aug 23\, 7pm\, in person): What does it mean to prepare? Themes of the High Holidays.\n—\nElul – the Hebrew month before Rosh HaShanah – is a time for spiritual preparation. We are meant to begin taking an account of our souls\, thinking about the moments we missed the mark\, and how we can do better in the coming year. This year\, we are offering space to start doing this work together. We will discuss themes of the High Holidays\, explore the theological implications of the prayers\, and start our own reflections. It will all culminate on Selichot\, when we will take a look at the confessional prayers as a community.
