Nice Jewish Boys (NJB) has been a local, volunteer-driven community organization in Washington, D.C., since 2005. Adam, the founder of NJB, worked with the Jewish Community Center to create a forum to serve gay, bisexual and queer Jewish men in their twenties. This effort was complemented by the establishment of Nice Jewish Girls, a network for lesbians, and Gayyim, the more mature partner to NJB.

Furthering its mission, Blake became the second coordinator of NJB in summer 2006 and expanded the group’s visibility and membership, furthering its reputation in the community.

NJB continued to mature when Michael took over in 2009. His extensive experience in the LGBT community allowed NJB to conduct more outreach, begin monthly happy hours and other events, and revamp its internet presence. He was followed by J.T.

Jonathan Gilad chaired NJB from June 2011 through December 2013. His leadership built a steering committee that grew NJB’s programming to include social sports, quarterly Shabbat dinners, annual participation in Capital Pride and the Mr. NJB Pageant.

Ben Rosenbaum became NJB’s 5th Chair in January, 2014. He can be reached at BJRosenbaum@gmail.com.
