The Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington and its Lillian & Albert Small Jewish Museum explore the unique Jewish heritage of Washington as a hometown and as the nation’s capital. We engage and inspire adults and children through exhibitions, our landmark historic synagogue, public programs, and educational initiatives. The Society collects, preserves, and shares material culture that documents the story of the Jewish community in the Washington, D.C., region as a lens through which broader national and international history may be explored.
We offer young professionals the opportunity to engage with local Jewish history and learn about the city they now call home. Our public programs and walking tours are open to all and do not require membership (though it is available, starting at $36!). We also have volunteer opportunities, such as leading walking tours and helping at public programs. We offer young professionals discounted tickets to select programs and and special walking tours.
