SUMMARY:Creating with the Moon: Rosh Chodesh Nissan with Kohenet K' Keshira haLev Fife
DESCRIPTION:As the tiny crescent becomes visible in the night sky\, Rosh Chodesh offers us an opportunity to refresh our dreams and desires. Together we’ll reweave ourselves into the cycle of Jewish time and nourish our creative spirit so that we might enter the month refreshed and renewed. \nDuring this 90-minute\, virtual session we’ll use the Jewish Studio Process\, a unique methodology combining practices from the field of art therapy with a reimagined approach to Jewish learning\, to cultivate our inherent creativity as a spiritual practice. \nThis program is offered free of charge and will take place on Zoom with closed captions. \nKeshira haLev Fife (she/they pronouns) is a Kohenet (Hebrew Priestess) and a bi-racial\, queer Jewish person who delights in serving as davennatrix (shlichat tzibbur)\, lifespiral ceremony/ritual creatrix\, consultant\, facilitator\, teacher\, liturgist and songstress.  She serves as Founding Kohenet of Kesher Pittsburgh and Core Faculty Member with the Institute for Jewish Spirituality\, and also enjoys working with Beloved\, The Jewish Studio Project\, Kirva\, the Avodah Institute for Social Change\, and the Jewish Learning Collaborative\, among other national Jewish organisations. Though both the lands of the Osage & Haudenosaunee people (aka Pittsburgh\, PA) and the Gadigal people (Sydney\, AUS) feel like home\, Keshira and her beloved have been in an extended period of travel since January 2023. www.keshirahalev.com  \nNote: Rosh Chodesh is the beginning of each month on the Hebrew calendar. DESCRIPTION:Cost: $9-$36 (sliding scale) \nJoin in creative community to make art about it at JSP Open Studio!  \nDrop by the Berkeley Studio to explore Jewish texts\, dive into different materials\, meet friends\, drink tea and learn more about Jewish Studio Project. Optional text study for the first 15 minutes of each session! \nLimited Space Available. Self guided. No experience required. All program fees will go towards studio supplies and staff time. Everyone is welcome no matter your religious affiliation. There may be Hebrew words or Jewish themes/texts in our programming but it will always be designed to be accessible to all. This event is intended for adults and young people (high school and older)  \nThis session is co-sponosred by GatherBay! GatherBay connects 20- and 30-somethings to each other\, to Jewish organizations and initiatives\, and to meaningful Jewish experiences in the East Bay. \nA Note About Fees: \nThe participation fee for this series is sliding scale $9-$36. Our goal is to never turn anyone away for lack of funds so please choose the price from our sliding scale that best meets your needs. If you you need additional assistance beyond what is listed please contact Candace Goodwin at cgoodwin@jewishstudioproject.org. \nCOVID Policy:\nMasks are optional and extras will be available at the studio. If you are symptomatic or not feeling well\, please stay home and we will see you next time. \nA note about Studio accessibility:\nThere are three steps into the building and the bathroom is not ADA. During art-making time\, we will hang up paper on the wall so those who want to can stand to make art; we will also set up places to sit during art-making time if that is more comfortable for you.
