The New Synagogue Project (“NSP”), located in the Petworth neighborhood of DC, seeks one teacher and two teaching assistants for our K-6th grade education program, Kollel, for the 2022-23 academic year. Kollel emphasizes living the rhythms of Jewish life, connecting to the NSP community, and taking action for justice by linking Jewish principles to applied experiences. Classes will often meet outside the classroom in other community locations (in accordance with NSP’s Covid-19 protocols) to show how Jewish practice can be applied to the world at large or inside the home.

About the role:
Location: Washington, DC at multiple locations in the Petworth area
Time: 9:00am-11:30am on 32 Saturday mornings from Sept. 10th to June 24th
TEACHER Pay: $35-40/hour based on experience.
Hours: This will include 2.5 hours of instruction and prep/clean-up time from 9:00am-11:30am, and, for the teacher, 1 hour of at-home preparation. If registration numbers require an additional class, we may have an additional class meet from 11:30am-12:30pm, for an additional 1.5 hours of paid in-person time.
