Teen Connect Teacher – Empowering Teens for Tikkun Olam
Are you or someone you know (local college students, experienced teachers, excited new Jewish educators) looking to do something fulfilling and fun? We are looking for someone who can inspire our teens to engage in social justice work, current events discussions, and Jewish values learning. We want our teens exploring how Judaism matters to them today. We are looking for someone to individualize the curriculum to the needs of the teens, invite speakers, motivate teens to lead tzedakah drives, and lead group-building and fun activities.
Jewish content knowledge and a caring approach to working with teens are a must. We have a small student-teacher ratio, a supportive teaching environment, and room for creativity and multi-sensory learning.
The class meets two Sundays a month 10:45am – 11:30am. (We also have openings for tutoring children during the week online for 20 minutes - scheduled based on your and the families’ scheduling needs - in remedial Hebrew using the Shalom Learning Hebrew curriculum.)
Oseh Shalom is a Reconstructionist synagogue located in Laurel, MD (just outside the beltway). We use interactive, modern, and values-based curricula in order to engage and inspire our young learners. Candidates should be comfortable working with teens (8th – 12th graders). They should have a good Judaic base as well as a creative ability to think outside the box and commitment toward teaching the next generation.
Please send your resume to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re accepting resumes on a rolling basis.
