Are you or someone you know experienced teachers or excited new Jewish educators looking to do something fulfilling and fun on Sunday mornings 9-11:30am? We are looking for teachers! Jewish content knowledge, Hebrew experience, and a caring approach to working with children a must.
We have a wonderful group of 3rd and 4th graders waiting for a new teacher who is compassionate, knowledgeable and fun. Children will be learning the Shalom Learning Jewish values curriculum as well as Torah, prayers and holidays. We have a small student-teacher ratio, a supportive teaching environment, and room for creativity and multi-sensory learning.
We are also hoping the individual is available to tutor children during the week online for 20 minutes as well (scheduled based on your and the families’ needs) in remedial Hebrew using the Shalom Learning Hebrew curriculum.
Oseh Shalom is a Reconstructionist synagogue located in Laurel, MD (just outside the beltway). We use interactive, modern, and values-based curricula in order to engage and inspire our young learners. Candidates should be comfortable working with children and families. They should have some technology skills, a good Judaic base as well as a creative ability to think outside the box and commitment toward teaching the next generation.
