SUMMARY:Maryland Tashlich with GatherDC
DESCRIPTION:Welcoming a new Jewish year can stir up a range of emotions – from thank goodness to oh my goodness. You might find yourself wondering: How does it feel to say goodbye to the year that came before? What does it mean to start a year afresh? What can I toss\, and what can I keep? \nTashlich (“casting off”) is\, at its core\, an act of catharsis – a Jewish ritual in which we toss pieces of bread\, pebbles\, leaves\, or sticks into a body of water to symbolically cast away regrets or disappointments from the past year. This year\, GatherDC is hosting three tashlich gatherings across DC\, Maryland\, and Virginia with our community partners – and we would love to see you there! \nYou are welcome to attend one or more Tashlich – just please register in advance so we can send you the exact location. We’ll provide everything you need for this ritual – just bring a reflective mind and open heart!

SUMMARY:Kayaking Tashlich on the Potomac River with the Den Collective
DESCRIPTION:Join us on the Potomac River for one of our most meaningful annual traditions of the High Holy Day season. \nDuring the Ten Days of Repentance between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur\, Jewish communities around the world observe Tashlich\, the ritual of symbolically casting away what no longer serves us as we begin the New Year.
