SUMMARY:Backpacking in Shenandoah: Shabbat in the Backcountry with Lech Lecha Journeys
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a beginner-friendly backpacking weekend in the quiet backcountry of Shenandoah National Park. Over three days\, we’ll hike into one of the park’s most beautiful areas\, camp beside a flowing creek\, and spend Shabbat in the backcountry. \nWe aim to gather with other wonderful Jews – generally between the ages of 25-40 – to connect with each other\, explore Judaism in an embodied way\, have fun\, play together in nature\, and relax back into quiet. \nThis is a great opportunity for new backpackers. We are Shomer-Shabbat friendly and provide kosher food\, but welcome people of all observance levels. \n \nAccommodations: None \n \nOrganization: Lech-Lecha Journeys \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not

SUMMARY:Tisha B’Av Maariv at Museum of the Palestinian People with Mozart Minyan
DESCRIPTION:We’ll daven Maariv using a low-key\, less-musical mode (BYO siddur – or use your phone)\, and then read Eicha. Eicha is typically read from a regular Tanakh rather than a scroll – you are encouraged to bring your own Tanakh\, or you can follow along on your phone. After Eicha\, we will recite selected Kinnot and works by Palestinian poets\, paralleling the destruction wrought by ancient empires with that of current empires\, and participating in the traditional practice of mourning many tragedies all on Tisha B’Av. We’ll have printed copies of these. \nMozart Minyan is generously being hosted by the Museum of the Palestinian People for Tisha B’Av this year. We highly encourage all participants who have the financial means to make a contribution to MPP at https://mpp-dc.org/donate/\nMinimum Suggested amt: $ \n \nAccommodations: None \n \nOrganization: Mozart Minyan \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not

SUMMARY:Meditation Retreat: Shabbat in Shenandoah with Lech Lecha Journeys
DESCRIPTION:We will be camping together in beautiful Shenandoah\, creating space to step away from the pace and noise of daily life. Through meditation\, silence\, time in nature\, and shared inquiry\, the retreat is designed to support a shift from thinking about G-d and Judaism to experiencing the truths it points to – in our direct experience. \nThe structure of the weekend is intentionally simple. We will move between guided sessions\, unstructured time in nature\, group gatherings\, and Shabbat-related experiences\, allowing for both personal reflection and shared exploration. \nThis is not a highly scheduled or intensive retreat. Rather\, it is an opportunity to slow down\, become more present\, and explore what is available when we are no longer caught in constant movement or mental activity. \nNo prior meditation experience is required. We are shomer-shabbat friendly and provide kosher food\, but welcome people of all religious levels. \nThis retreat is led by experienced meditation facilitator\, Noam Levenson. \n \nAccommodations: None \n \nOrganization: Lech-Lecha Journeys \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not
