SUMMARY:Interfaith Prayer Vigil for Immigrant Safety with Temple Rodef Shalom
DESCRIPTION:Join Rabbi Saxe at this interfaith prayer vigil\, sponsored by Congregation Action Network\, to lift up the memory of those whose lives have been taken unjustly by our own country – a matter of sorrow and shame\, and of supreme importance to call out in this national emergency. Together we will honor the over 50 people who have died by the hands of ICE or in ICE custody since 2025 along with the over 15\,000 people taken in by ICE in Virginia\, 76% having no criminal record. \nWe will gather to hear from faith voices proclaiming the importance of justice and welcome\, and we will remember the names of those we have lost. An optional procession will then go through the neighborhood carrying signs with the names and faces of those who have died. Signs will be provided. Come to join in community and act in public for what is right.⁩ \n \nAccommodations: None \n \nOrganization: Temple Rodef Shalom \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not

Join Jews United for Justice for What’s At Stake to learn about these issues and to take action between now and the election as we celebrate Sukkot together. \n \nAccommodations: ADA Accessible Venue \n \nOrganization: Jews United for Justice \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not

SUMMARY:Women for a Sweeter World: An Evening of Hope with the Pozez JCC
DESCRIPTION:Women for a Sweeter World: An Evening of Hope\nWednesday\, September 30 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm\nJoin us for a meaningful evening of film\, conversation\, and connection exploring the power of women\, collaboration\, and hope across communities in Israel. \nThe evening will feature a screening of the inspiring documentary “Women for a Sweeter World” (53 min)\, followed by a conversation with the film’s director\, Roei Levi Ymamori\, the film’s founder and inspiration\, Yossi Aud\, and three Jewish and Arab women leaders from the Women of Honey collective. \nThe film tells the remarkable story of women from diverse communities in Israel — Jewish\, Muslim\, Christian\, Druze\, and Bedouin — who come together through biodynamic beekeeping. While learning the delicate art of caring for bees\, they also build friendships\, create economic opportunities\, and develop meaningful connections across cultural and religious divides. \nThrough the conversation following the film\, participants will hear firsthand about the journey of creating connections\, building bridges\, and believing that change is possible even in challenging times. \nFree admission. RSVP required. \n \nAccommodations: None \n \nOrganization: Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not
