SUMMARY:Book Brunch: Jewish Stories in Our Own Words with the EDCJCC
DESCRIPTION:What do a Laotian born refugee\, an Indian culinary creator\, a trans improv artist\, a Jewpanese podcaster\, and a Latinx storyteller have in common? They are all Jewish\, and their unique journeys are part of Hyphen\, a gorgeous comics anthology showcasing extraordinary stories of everyday people. Each story is told in the contributor’s own words and brought to life by international artists\, weaving together ancient traditions\, modern journeys\, and deeply personal experiences. \nThe Jewish people today are more diverse than ever in our history. At the heart of Hyphen is the belief that Jewish identity is not one-size-fits-all. By empowering contributors to tell their own stories\, Hyphen is a powerful celebration of what it means to be Jewish today —amplifying voices that have too often been overlooked. \nJoin us for mimosas\, bagels\, and rich conversation with the book’s creators and two featured storytellers. We’re thrilled to welcome Dubbs Weinblatt\, Eddna Samuel\, Fabrice Sapolsky and Julian Voloj in conversation with Chess Jakobs to share queer\, trans\, Indian\, Algerian\, and Colombian Jewish stories on our stage. \n \n \nOrganization: Edlavitch DCJCC \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not

SUMMARY:Eilu v'Eilu: An Open Reflection Project with Am Kolel
DESCRIPTION:This gentle\, conversation-based program creates space for us to explore some of the most meaningful\, complicated\, and personal aspects of Jewish life. \nMany of the topics we’ll be discussing—God\, prayer\, Israel\, identity\, mortality\, and more—can be challenging to talk about\, even with people we know well. Eilu v’Eilu offers a warm\, guided space to dive deeply into our own thoughts and beliefs\, to practice articulating ideas that may feel tender or evolving\, and to listen generously to the experiences of others. \nEach session stands on its own\, and you’re warmly invited to join for as many—or as few—as you’d like. \nThese Thursday-evening Zoom gatherings (7:00–8:30 pm) are designed for curiosity\, honesty\, and genuine connection. There are no “right answers” to arrive at—just opportunities to reflect\, ask\, listen\, and share. \n \nAccommodations: ADA Accessible Venue \n \nOrganization: Am Kolel \n \nLivestream or Virtual: Yes\, it is
