    Colonel Frank Cohn - a refugee from Germany as a young boy, Cohn joined the U.S. Army and arrived in France shortly after D Day, participating in the Battle of the Bulge. He continued to serve through the Vietnam War.
    Corporal Harold Terens - served with the 350th Fighter Squadron, 8th Air Force in the UK, France, North Africa and Ukraine with Eisenhower shuttle bombing program.
    Corporal Al Jacobs - served with the Army Air Forces in India, supporting the dangerous Hump route serving Allied forces in China and Burma.
    May is Jewish American Heritage Month. Approximately 550,000 American Jewish men and women served in uniform during WWII around the world.

    The Farhud is an outbreak of antisemitic mob violence against Baghdad Jewry that erupted on June 1, 1941 during the Shavuot holiday.

    In memory of Shlomo Mantzur who escaped the antisemitic, 1941 Iraqi Farhud massacre and emigrated to Israel, only to face another pogrom 82 years later in the Jewish state on October 7.

    Wind down your day with Rabbi Emmanuel and the Den with a summer evening stroll through the monument along the National Mall–one of DC's best after-work traditions.
