SUMMARY:October 7th: Remembering Together Through Music\, Stories & Food with Pozez JCC
DESCRIPTION:October 7th: Remembering Together Through Music\, Stories & Food\nWednesday\, October 7 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm\nJoin us for a meaningful community gathering marking three years since October 7th — an evening of remembrance\, reflection\, and hope. \nThe evening will feature a moving musical experience\, where select members of our community have chosen songs that hold personal and collective memories connected to October 7. The songs will be brought to life by a group of Israeli musicians\, creating a space to honor the people\, places\, and stories that continue to stay with us. \nFollowing the performance\, we will gather around food prepared in memory of those who were lost and the communities that were impacted on that day. Through shared recipes and stories\, we will remember\, reflect\, and create space to process the journey of the three years that have passed. \nTogether\, we will hold both the pain and the hope — honoring those we lost while strengthening the connections\, resilience\, and community that continue to carry us forward. \nThis program is free. RSVP required. \n \nAccommodations: None \n \nOrganization: Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not

SUMMARY:Fund Our Future Canvass in Ward 3 with Jews United for Justice
DESCRIPTION:Jewish tradition teaches that in a just world\, all people — no matter the color of our skin\, where we are from\, or how much money we have — would have what the Torah calls dei machsoro\, resources sufficient for our needs. But in DC\, the people with the most money are not paying their fair share to help meet the needs of their neighbors. We have a chance to change that this fall. Join JUFJ’s Fund Our Futures campaign as we and our partners work to pass a wealth tax before the end of the year so that everyone in our city has what we need to live a dignified life. \nJUFJ and our partners at Washington Interfaith Network and the DC Fair Budget Coalition are canvassing wealthy residents in Ward 3 to ask them to support this campaign. Join us on October 5 or 11 as we talk to JUFJers about what their tax dollars can support\, from childcare to housing to transit and so much more! \n \nAccommodations: None \n \nOrganization: Jews United for Justice \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not

SUMMARY:Moon by Moon: Integration of Spiritual Time with Adas Israel Congregation
DESCRIPTION:Jewish tradition holds some the world’s best-kept wellness secrets\, ancient practices that support our wholeness individually and in community. \nPlease join in this collaborative experience as At The Well and the Wellness Center @ Adas partner to explore the wisdom of the lunar calendar through the sacred technology of Rosh Chodesh. The Hebrew Calendar invites each of us into cyclical time\, present-moment awareness\, embodiment\, and collective care. \nIn Cheshvan\, we enter a quieter\, more spacious season after the intensity and sacred busyness of Tishrei and the High Holiday cycle. The gatherings\, rituals\, reflection\, celebration\, and renewal of the previous month begin to settle\, creating room to absorb all that we have experienced. \nThis spaciousness offers an invitation to integrate. We can return to the intentions\, hopes\, and commitments we named for the year ahead and begin to ask what it means to actually live them — not only in moments of ceremony or inspiration\, but in the ordinary rhythms of our daily lives. Cheshvan reminds us that transformation is often sustained in quieter ways: through small choices\, repeated practices\, and the ways we care for ourselves and one another. \nWithout major holidays to structure the month\, Cheshvan can feel open and unhurried. That openness gives us space to listen more closely to what is taking root. What from Tishrei do we want to carry forward? What needs more time to settle? What might be asking for our attention now that the noise has softened? \nTogether\, we create space to ground\, reflect\, and reconnect with what matters most. In this circle\, we honor the transition from intention to practice\, gently exploring how the visions we hold for the year can begin to take shape in the lives we are already living. \nThis program will be facilitated by At The Well Founder &.CEO Sarah Waxman and Rabbi Anina Dassa. \n \nAccommodations: ADA Accessible Venue \n \nOrganization: Adas Israel Congregation \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not
