SUMMARY:Interfaith Couples Workshop with Sixth & I
DESCRIPTION:This is a four-week discussion-based course designed for couples in their 20s and early 30s who do not yet have children. The workshop is held four to five times throughout the year. This cohort meets on Wednesdays\, August 6 – 27 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. \nRabbi Aaron facilitates a guided\, nonjudgmental space for Jews and their non-Jewish partners to talk\, learn\, and grow – together and as individuals. Couples should make time for an additional hour each week to discuss the case studies with their partners. \nNo one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information\, please contact our Jewish Life Associate\, Robyn. \nRegistration for this series closes on Wednesday\, July 30 at Noon.

Historically\, Christian nationalism\, racial science\, and conspiratorial thinking constitute the three forces that have inspired that objective. \nUsing archival sources spanning from 1654 through the present\, Dr. Tevis will illuminate an array of forgotten examples of antisemitism in the United States to re

Each week the class discusses case studies\, written by the couples\, on a specific instance that the Jewish and non-Jewish partner felt raised questions in their relationship. \nText studies and articles supplement the class.

SUMMARY:American Red Cross Blood Drive with Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia
DESCRIPTION:Every day\, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims\, heart surgery and organ transplant patients\, and those battling cancer. In fact\, every two seconds\, someone in the U.S. needs blood. It is likely that you or someone you know will need a blood transfusion in your lifetime. \nDue to recent drastic shortfalls of donations over the last several weeks\, donors of all blood types are critically needed\, especially those with type O blood. \nThe blood donation process from the time you arrive until the time you leave takes about an hour. The donation itself is only about 8-10 minutes on average. In order to qualify for whole blood donation\, you must be in good health and feeling well\, at least 16 years of age (with signed parental consent) and weigh at least 110 lbs. Additional eligibility criteria apply\, including certain medications\, medical conditions\, travel to certain countries\, and personal history. \nPre-registered participants only. No walk-ins.
