SUMMARY:Farewell to the Sukkah with GatherDC
DESCRIPTION:As the High Holidays come to a close\, we invite you to join GatherDC for one final gathering under the sukkah’s thatched roof. Rooted in the Jewish tradition of bidding farewell to the sukkah\, this is an opportunity to slow down\, savor the moment\, and reflect on what this new Jewish year might bring.\nThrough journaling and art-making\, we’ll explore where we’ve found peace\, protection\, and moments of joy over the past High Holiday season – and what learning we’d like to carry with us into the year ahead.\nWe’ll have the option to shake the Lulav (branches and palm fronds) and Etrog (citron) for the final time during the holiday\, as well as share light snacks and spend time in the shelter of the sukkah as we say “see you next year.”

SUMMARY:October 7th: Remembering Together Through Music\, Stories & Food with Pozez JCC
DESCRIPTION:October 7th: Remembering Together Through Music\, Stories & Food\nWednesday\, October 7 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm\nJoin us for a meaningful community gathering marking three years since October 7th — an evening of remembrance\, reflection\, and hope. \nThe evening will feature a moving musical experience\, where select members of our community have chosen songs that hold personal and collective memories connected to October 7. The songs will be brought to life by a group of Israeli musicians\, creating a space to honor the people\, places\, and stories that continue to stay with us. \nFollowing the performance\, we will gather around food prepared in memory of those who were lost and the communities that were impacted on that day. Through shared recipes and stories\, we will remember\, reflect\, and create space to process the journey of the three years that have passed. \nTogether\, we will hold both the pain and the hope — honoring those we lost while strengthening the connections\, resilience\, and community that continue to carry us forward. \nThis program is free. RSVP required. \n \nAccommodations: None \n \nOrganization: Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia \n \nLivestream or Virtual: No\, it’s not
