Sarah: What is your name?
Zuli: My full name is Zuli “Thumper” Jebodiah Brown. Please don’t ask questions. I was not involved.
Sarah: Where did your name come from?
Zuli: My mom and dad (AKA: Rebecca and Alex) were going to get one of those crazy Basenjis (which date back to Ancient Egypt), so they thought of the name Zuli, short for Lapis Lazuli, the ancient Egyptian semi-precious stone. But….then I gave them my best puppy eyes at an adoption event and it was all over HEHE.
Sarah: What is your favorite way to spend a day in DC?
Zuli: Hi I’m a dog….obviously I’m gonna snooze all day #NoResponsibilities
Sarah: What is your favorite human costume to dress up as?
Zuli: My mom has a business, and I like repping it by wearing her t-shirts. Translation: SHE likes me to rep it and I just stand there and let it happen. I’ve learned it’s best not to fight it.
Sarah: How did you get to DC?
Zuli: A looooooong car-ride. Lucky Dog Animal Rescue found me on the side of the road in North Carolina. I mean, I was getting by just fine, but I will say it’s nice to have a bed and roof over my head now.
Sarah: What’s it like living with your owner?
Zuli: Pawesome. Mom works from home most days so I’m not really alone much. I wish it was Dad though, ‘cause I love him more. Wait, is Mom reading this?
Sarah: What is your go-to pet store?
Zuli: Lol, it’s 2018. I just Amazon Prime my entire life.
Sarah: What is your favorite food?
Zuli: Well, I eat strictly paleo so I go the extra mile for Blue Buffalo grain-free chicken recipe. But on cheat days, I eat Ruff Puffs and stick my entire face in a jar of peanut butter.
Sarah: What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?
Zuli: That I’ve got the prettiest eyes, but I already knew that, so I’m waiting for someone to come up with something more clever.
Sarah: What is your favorite thing to do when you think no one is looking?
Zuli: Chew any wire I can find.
Sarah: Who is your best friend?
Zuli: Zeus! She’s my gal pal Frenchie that lives on the floor of my building. We’re like yin and yang… Bonnie and Clyde… salt and pepper… I shouldn’t have to list any more of these for you to understand.
Sarah: What is your biggest pet peeve that your owner does?
Zuli: When they talk to me as if I’m their 3-month old HUMAN infant.
Sarah: If a genie could grant you 3 wishes, what would they be?

Zuli: Are you really going to make me say peanut butter again?

Zuli: A cat. But not a house cat… think Jaguar.
Sarah: What’s your favorite Jewish holiday and why?
Zuli: I haven’t experienced any yet but I’m going to go ahead and say Hanukkah because latkes off the floor just seem very appetizing.
