DC Jewish Blog Round Up — Barbie’s getting ink.

In case you weren’t able to read the other local Jewish blogs this week, here are a few of my favorite posts:

Kosher Salt (The new blog of Sixth & I.  Welcome!)

  • Barbie’s getting ink: When Jews get ink (I asked for a “13” on my arm, but I got a “31”… Fail!), it can lead to some tricky questions about the Jewish afterlife.  So what about when a Barbie doll gets a tattoo?

Capital J.  With Ron Kampeas:

  • There’s no place for Jews in Libya:   As part of the ongoing spirit of liberty, fraternity, and peace that pervades the Arab Spring, Libyans protest the one Jew still living in Libya:  “We strongly refuse the Jewish in our land” and “There’s no place for Jews in Libya.”  As Ron points out, the protesters conveniently put the signs in Hebrew and English for the benefit of international viewers.

The Blog at 16th and Q:

Washington Jewish Week:

  • After J Street declares war, ECI punches back: Is it ok to feed Gilad Shalit’s imprisoners to sharks in the Mediterranean?  ECI and J-Street debate.  My vote:  Yes, it’s ok so long as they’re sharks with frikkin lazer beams attached to their heads.
