Join Jewish National Fund in DC for Building Our Future: Going Green in the Negev. Meet and network with environmentally-minded DC young professionals while discussing green building technology and its use in recent developments in southern Israel.
Ricki Meyer, a former Jewish Girl of the Week and a co-organizer of the event, said she was “constantly inspired by the group of dedicated donors and staff members who are committed to keeping Herzl’s dream of a democratic Jewish state a reality.” She also emphasized the wide scope of JNF’s programs in the Negev.
“I am most intrigued by Aleh Negev and Sderot Center, for they provide necessary opportunities for individuals living in an unpredictable environment. The Sderot Center is an indoor playground located in an area that is constantly under missile fire; Aleh Negev is an organization that creates communities for individuals with disabilities,” Meyer told GTJ.
Jeffrey Abramson, an international authority on green building technology, will speak at this event. Attendees will also learn how they can get back to Israel with JNF and see the cutting-edge work that is transforming the Negev.
WHEN: Wednesday, September 14, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Current Lounge, 1215 Connecticut Ave. NW
Hors d’oeuvres and other food will be served (with dietary laws observed). The first 50 people to register get free drinks, so sign up sooner rather than later here.
