JWI is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with experience and demonstrable skills in communications, social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, writing and editing for the Web, and website content management. The communications manager will be responsible for developing the voice for all aspects of the organization’s online presence. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing online brand marketing, fundraising and advocacy outreach campaigns, with a strong background in social media. Tasks require a strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. This person will also be responsible for crafting email marketing and online outreach campaigns in addition to writing, editing and publishing website content. The ideal candidate will also have press experience and know how to craft a press release and pitch stories. The communications manager will report directly to the VP of marketing and communications and will work closely with the program and marketing departments of the organization.
B.A. and 2-4 years of applicable online communications experience
Exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills
Eye for Web and graphic design desired
Knowledge of HTML and experience with CMS and CRM
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Understanding of Web and social media analytics and their application
Proven ability to work effectively within a cross-departmental team
Working knowledge of AP Style
