Established as an initiative of the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation in 2006, ROI Community, Inc., is a private operating foundation and is currently recruiting applicants interested in a one to two-year paid fellowship. This position is designed for a recent college graduate who is seeking opportunities and experiences that can help to shape future career and/or education goals.
The Leadership Initiatives Fellow will have the opportunity to help design and implement strategic initiatives related to talent, leadership and culture. The Fellow will support the operations of programs like the Schusterman Fellowship and gatherings of our grantees that focus on recruiting, developing and retaining exceptional professional and volunteer talent in the Jewish nonprofit sector. In the process, the Fellow will get to know and interact with many diverse and inspiring leaders.
Specific responsibilities of the Fellow include:
Assisting the team on key leadership initiatives:
Provide support to Schusterman staff in the design and implementation of strategic initiatives such as the Schusterman Fellowship, CareerHub and Talent Alliance, and special projects as needed
Arrange convenings and off-site gatherings for individuals, as well as partner and grantee organizations
Help to develop and expand new and existing program areas such as cultivating the Schusterman Fellowship alumni community and fostering communities of practice among grantees
Interact with and support program participants, who are diverse and inspiring leaders from across the Jewish nonprofit sector
Research and Support:
Seek out, review and synthesize articles, blogs, studies and presentations related to the team’s strategic priorities in order to keep us on the leading edge and inform the direction of our work on topics such as leadership development, organizational capacity building, adult learning and development, delegation, facilitation techniques, giving feedback, working in teams, mindfulness, coaching and presence
Draft blog posts, reports/presentations, emails and other materials on behalf of the Leadership Initiatives team
Data, Asset and Information Management:
Build intake mechanisms and reports for key initiatives
Design and maintain processes for application intake, program evaluation (e.g. surveys), micro grant management, online communications and other operational needs using Salesforce, FormAssembly, Marketing Cloud, Slack and other Schusterman-wide technology
Act as the team “historian,” documenting meeting notes and outcomes, managing and storing final versions of program materials, gathering assets, etc.
Provide administrative support for the team
A Bachelor’s degree
Ability to research and manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and willingness to take on large and small tasks
A commitment to Schusterman’s mission and values
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media
An entrepreneurial spirit and creative mindset
A high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility and curiosity
Skill and comfort in prioritizing and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
